Review: I tend to like the first book in a series the best but I think ROR outdid KOAAB. I loved the Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast elements and how they made the story even more magical and dark. I don’t know if it’s just me but Valory gave me some Elsa vibes. The plot was amazing and the pacing wasn’t too fast or too slow. I loved Valory and her ending scene was brutally awesome! I still can’t get over the little disney elements and I’m still reeling from all the thrills in this book! All in all I loved this book, I love this series, and I love Miss West’s amazing storytelling and if you’re a disney fan looking for a great retelling this book is definitely for you!

Rating: 4.5 Stars

Reccomendation: For disney fans ages 15 and up

ETC DIACLAIMER: I received this book in exchange for an honest review

Linked here is a Realm Of Ruins inspired playlist! (They’re mostly just the Disney tracks I listened to while reading ROR)

Blog Tour: The Journal Of Angela Ashby by Liana Gardner

The Journal of Angela Ashby Tour Banner
The Journal of Angela Ashby

I have great power.
That’s what she told me. The old fortune-teller at the school carnival.
I thought I was doing the right thing … with the magic journal she gave me. But nothing could prepare me for what happened next.
Or, for what I unleashed.

At a school carnival, a mysterious fortune-teller gives twelve-year-old Angela Ashby a journal and warns her to use it wisely. Nothing prepares Angela for the journal’s power—when she pours her heart onto its pages her desires come true.

She tests the journal by conjuring a gnome, a unicorn, and a farting fairy and then uses it to stop the school bullies in their tracks. But the unintended consequences alienate her best friend and puts her favorite teacher in danger of losing her job.

After she shares her deepest desire of all—that her parents get back together—her adversary steals the journal, and Angela fears she will use it to bring mayhem to the entire school if she doesn’t get it back.
